Happy Tax Freedom Day – Plus The Charts 3 June 2006

Chart above provided by Iain Dale (http://www.iaindale.blogspot.com/), showing international comparisons for Tax Freedom Day. If the UK is to remain competitive the tax take will have to fall. The below chart from CCHQ and Conservative Home (http://conservativehome.blogs.com) shows how the UK tax take has now overtaken Germany – a country with famously high taxes. The results – mass unemployment and a stiffled economy – will await Britain unless action is taken. The final chart shows the change in tax levels – while most nations have seen declining rates, the UK tax take has soared. Chameleons on Bicycles wishes all our readers a very happy Tax Freedom Day. Bloggers; feel free to copy anything to spread the word but please link back if you can and give a credit if I have back to the original source.
