The Government Pack (The Dad Pack) 14 June 2006

The Department of Being Really Patronising has released its new Dad Pack£50,000 advice booklet for new parents. The Dad Pack, featuring a range of humerous cartoons, gives a range of obvious advice such as "know your benefits" and "keep kids amused". There's also a handy quiz, with questions such as "complete the following; children cost a fortune, so you say (a) I'm happy to trade the Porche for a lawnmower, (b) send Gran shoplifting, or (c) how much can we sell this one for?"

Once again the government spends our money telling us how to do the obvious. Maybe we should create an advice pack for the government, with advice such as "being a government can be expensive, the key is a good budget, try not to run up £36bln deficits and ideally spend no more than what you earn". Suggestions welcome.
