Litvinenko “Prodi KGB” Case Mustn’t Be Dropped 4 December 2006

The allegation that Romano Prodi, current Italian PM and formerly European Commission President, is the KGB/FSB’s man in Italy has continued to be pushed by UKIP. The Guardian and Sun reported it in just a few dismissive lines, but after Mr Litvinenko’s death and the contamination of his friend, Mr Scaramella, as well as numerous aircraft and sites across the UK, it deserves wider investigation.

Gerard Batten took the floor in a moving and important speech about the death of the former KGB Colonel Alexander Litvinenko. Mr Batten knew Mr Litvinenko and has been key to letting the world know some of the most extraordinary details of the whole Russian poisoning affair. This speech is here slightly altered as it was spoken under Parliamentary privilege.

I should like to pay tribute to my constituent, Mr Alexander Litvinenko. Alexander was fearless in exposing the political gangsters that now run Russia, and the creatures of the KGB and FSB that still hold political office in Europe. For his bravery, he paid the ultimate price. In April, I made two speeches in this Parliament repeating allegations made to me by Alexander that Romano Prodi had been an agent of some kind of the KGB. Alexander told me that the key figure to understanding Mr Prodi’s alleged relationship with the KGB in the 1970s was a man named XXXXX, also known as XXXXX, who worked for TASS in Italy. Since Alexander can no longer testify to this effect, as he was ready, willing and able to do, I am pleased to provide this service for him posthumously.

The work that Mr Batten has done on this case over the months has done much to bring into the light the evidence of high level infiltration of both the Italian government and the EU institutions by former Russian secret service operatives. In the light of the current situation he should also be applauded for his courage and his dedication to unearthing the truth.

Half of the ministers in Blairs cabinet over the last ten years are ex communist party members or used to be marxists. Can we believe they have all given up their beliefs? We know from bitter experience that ‘new Labour’ will say anything they think we want to hear to cling to power.
Look at the way the UK is being run now. The political elite try and shape the country into their idea of a socialist paradise. The lawless and minorities have ‘rights’ while law abiding citizens are spied on and persecuted. Hard working families are taxed to the hilt while the lazy and feckless are encouraged to stay that way with state handouts. 80% of our laws come from a foreign power and foreign courts have precidence over our courts. State interference controls our every waking moment and red tape strangles our economy while China & India become industrial giants and Russia re-emerges as a superpower to control us not with guns but with oil and gas. Sorry to sound like a Daily Mail writer but if this isn’t a communist plot to bring this country to its knees and have us crying out for a dictator to come and rescue us then what else could it be?

Please do not insult me or my visitors in the comments threads. If you wish to discuss and debate the topic, please do, that is indeed the idea, however do not resort to cheap personal attacks (i.e. “hope your tin foil hat is a good fit, you loon”).

I don’t deny, I think it’s highly likely Prodi WAS a Russian spy- years ago.
In the same way, I also believe that the golitsin revelations should be more seriously considered.
I also think it’s highly commendable that the truth is sought for here.
But I don’t think there’s a conspiracy here.
I did leave a similar- though more in depth post somewhere on this site some weeks back. Not sure where it went.

I am Italian and I personally think That Prodi was a KGB “friend”, otherwise it would be inexplicable, how, after all failures he had, he is now prime minister of Italy and not in prison or at least avoided by any clever person.
Not that the parties of his coalition it is full of clever people as In the coalition he has “Communist re-foundation party” and another communist party, a trans gender is a PM just because of his not-gender status (Nothing against if he was a politician and than a trans gender ).
Actually , I am confused now …. was he a kgb friend or he is just a little bit more clever than the “parties” he is leading ? Never mind.
A massive hug to UK all

Joe, I never saw your earlier post. If you would like to repost it, I will make sure it’s approved. I don’t think it’s a major conspiracy, but I think Prodi has a KGB history and maybe knows a few things about different people, which gets him a few favours. With a KGB history he may have a little give and take relationship as well.

Hi Alberto, our first reader to post from Italy!

7. Joe - 8 February 2007

Oh, it got posted, but I can’t remember where- I was agoldfish in a past life.
I simply pointed out that the KGB were the best at what they did and if they wanted to poison someone they’d have used something less obvious- and costly than Polonium.
I think everyone in the west imbued too much Russophobia in the cold war years and it still lingers on.
we still see them as the Evil Empire, enemies of the free world.
But I admire the stoic way the Russians kept their culture alive throughout the brave new world attempts to destroy it and the way the’ve pulled themselves up again.
I think the fact they’re outside the European club still makes them ‘suspect’
It shouldn’t do. They should be good allies to us.
Prodi, a KGB history, I’m sure, he always struck me as a bit slimy, but that’s the sort that floats to the top in Euroland.

Re; Hope your tin foil hat is a good fit, you loon.

Interesting argument, very well put! In reply I’d like to say, Just because I’m paranoid, it doesn’t mean they are not out to get me and my tin foil hat is an excellent fit, thank you (how did you know?).

I take it you disagree with my assumption that the way the UK is being run is a communist plot, because that’s the only bit of my argument that cannot be proved.

Regards to ‘Red Under Your Bed’ and everyone else who read my little rant.

The influence of communism still present was also brought to light by my well-publicised letter asking for a re-opening of the Pearson/Norman cover-up. Over a thousand Canadians got the letter, which is avialable for those who might wish to see it from morfinybooks@yahoo.ca

I don’t leave many comments, however after reading a lot of comments on Litvinenko “Prodi KGB” Case Mustn’t Be Dropped Chameleons on Bicycles. I actually do have 2 questions for you if it’s allright. Could it be only me or do some of these remarks look like they are left by brain dead people? 😛 And, if you are writing at additional online sites, I would like to follow everything fresh you have to post. Could you make a list of every one of your social sites like your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?

I believe what you published was actually very
logical. However, consider this, suppose you composed a catchier post title?
I am not saying your content is not good, but suppose
you added something to maybe get a person’s attention? I mean Litvinenko “Prodi KGB” Case Mustn’t Be Dropped
| Chameleons on Bicycles is kinda vanilla. You could glance at Yahoo’s front page and watch how they create news titles to get viewers to click.
You might try adding a video or a picture or two to get people excited about everything’ve
got to say. Just my opinion, it might bring your blog a little livelier.
